While having fun snorkeling or diving in the sea, never touch or pick up any marine creatures out of curiosity. It's not just for your safety but also for the health of the corals. A simple act of touching may damage corals' sensitive protecting layer and eventually kill them.

4. Use a Reef-friendly Sunscreen

Before going out in the sun, check the ingredients of your favorite sunscreen or sunblock before applying it to your skin. Does it contain harmful chemicals, such as Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, or Octocrylene? When you swim or shower, these chemicals are washed away to the waterway and may cause infertility to fish and coral bleaching.
