On 13 February 2026, CarbonEthics participated as one of the selected Indonesian carbon project developers in the Indonesia–U.S. Carbon Markets Roundtable in Jakarta, hosted by the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Market (AACM) and the Kadin Global Engagement Office (Kadin GEO).
The Roundtable was held as part of the long-standing Indonesia–U.S. partnership in trade and investment, as Indonesia continues to advance its growth agenda driven by industrial upgrading, infrastructure expansion, digital transformation, and energy transition. This creates a growing opportunity to mobilise capital toward projects that deliver measurable climate outcomes alongside broader economic development. Natural capital, land-based solutions, and carbon markets increasingly play a key role in linking financial flows with real-economy impact, enabling climate ambition to be translated into investable projects that support ecosystem restoration, strengthen local resilience, and contribute to sustainable development priorities.
The Indonesia–U.S. Carbon Markets Roundtable was convened as a closed-door dialogue designed to move beyond high-level interest and toward practical investment pathways. The objective was to connect Indonesian project developers with U.S. investors and financial institutions to explore actionable opportunities in nature-based and transition-related carbon projects.
The session brought together Indonesian carbon project developers, including CarbonEthics, alongside a U.S. business delegation comprising investors, asset managers, and financial institutions. The moderated roundtable format featured project presentations by selected developers, with CarbonEthics invited to contribute as part of the presenting group.
The session focused on advancing practical financing discussions. Key focus areas included the exploration of financing structures such as partnership models and the integration of carbon revenue mechanisms, as well as identifying priority investment opportunities, relevant counterparties, and clear timelines for follow-up engagement. The intended outcome was a shared understanding of what to finance, how to finance it, and who will be responsible for execution.
Substantive discussions covered several core areas critical to investment readiness in carbon markets. These included carbon integrity standards, Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) readiness, financing structures suitable for scaling carbon projects, and the practical requirements needed to enable effective capital mobilisation. The dialogue also emphasized the importance of clear pathways for deal-making and post-discussion follow-through to ensure continuity from engagement to implementation.
The Roundtable closed with a shared recognition of the need for continued coordination between project developers and investors. Participants highlighted the importance of structured follow-up engagement to translate discussions into concrete investment pipelines and long-term collaboration frameworks.
