CarbonEthics participated in the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Themed Lunch Meeting in Jakarta on 9 February 2026, focused on the role of the Indo-Pacific in advancing green growth, digital innovation, and economic transition amid a shifting geoeconomics landscape.
The event opened with remarks from Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, Coordinating Vice Chairman for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development at Kamar Dagang dan Industri Indonesia (KADIN). During the panel session, CarbonEthics CEO, Bimo Soewadji, joined Victor Lesmana, Director of Bukalapak, and Celeste Connors, President of East-West Centre, in a discussion moderated by Yijun Lim of BloombergNEF.
During the panel, Bimo Soewadji shared perspectives on how credible carbon markets are built on strong governance, regulatory clarity, and meaningful local community engagement to support long-term, sustainable investment in the APEC region.
As geoeconomic dynamics recalibrate trade and climate finance, Bimo Soewadji emphasized that strong regional connectivity supported by regulatory infrastructure, for example, Indonesia’s Presidential Regulation No. 110/2025. Clear rules create confidence, and confidence attracts capital—moving markets from design to real traction.
